Never Ever Build a Soapbox Car!
Does your child give up the moment things get challenging?
You want kids who persevere through obstacles, who learn that finishing what they start matters more than instant success. But finding books that actually inspire this kind of stick-with-it determination feels impossible.
Join Brother and Sister as their Saturday activity turns into an all-out racing adventure!
Never Ever Build a Soapbox Car! is the second book in the Never Ever Build a... Collection where Brother and Sister's DIY project transforms into an epic gravity-powered race that teaches kids what it means to give it all you've got.
Never Ever Build a Blanket Fort!
Does this sound familiar?
Your kids are glued to screens while you're desperately searching for activities that will spark their creativity and get them moving. You want them to problem-solve, use their imaginations, and maybe—just maybe—play together without fighting!
Meet the siblings whose blanket fort adventure got completely out of hand!
Never Ever Build a Blanket Fort! is a book about bravery for kids featuring two siblings whose simple blanket fort transforms into something extraordinary through the power of imagination.
Meet Ada the Fox with Cochlear Implants!
Ada and the Helpers
Who do you turn to when you need help?
Ada, a deaf fox with cochlear implants, is on her way to perform at a talent show! But she's a bit nervous. Will everyone laugh at her? Will she be able to hear the music?
Along the way, she meets and helps new friends overcome their own challenges. Maybe these new friends can help Ada in return!
Bringing Awareness to Hearing Loss, Hearing Devices, and Sign Language
After our daughter was born with profound hearing loss, it was difficult to find books with characters like her. That's when the idea for Ada and the Helpers came to me! With each turn of the page, young readers can practice fingerspelling a new word using the American Sign Language alphabet while reading a heartwarming story about helping others.
Welcome!
My name is Travis D. Peterson, and I'm an author, book designer, and author coach.
My debut book, Ada and the Helpers, is a children's picture book that inspires little ones to see past their challenges, discover their God-given strengths, and use them for the good of others.
Ada and the Helpers was inspired by my daughter, who was born deaf. This book brings awareness to hearing loss, cochlear implants, and sign language. It has won multiple medals from Northern Lights Book Awards, Chanticleer International Book Awards, and the Eric Hoffer International Book Award.
I now have multiple books and other items such as my ASL Alphabet flash cards available! Click the button below to see all that I have to offer.
